This leaves the Venturer free to progress through their Silver and Gold awards throughout their time in Venturers. Silver and Gold levels can be worked on concurrently. Sections in the Venturer awards are made up of modules consisting of Risk Management, Life Skills, Camp craft and Venturer Workshops.

The Duke of Edinburgh Awards (Young New Zealanders Challenge)

Many venturers choose to do Duke of Ed through School but they may also do it through Venturers if they wish. The DoE award is also split into Bronze, Silver and Gold. However only the Gold award is required in order to be eligible for the Queen Scout Award.

Queen's Scout Award

The Queen's Scout award is the highest youth award in Scouting and highly respected worldwide by those in and out of Scouting. To be eligible for the Queen's Scout award a Venturer must have both their Gold Duke of Edinburgh award and all three Venturer awards. After these have been completed, all that is required is a Citizenship panel where the Venturer meets with their leader, Zone representative and peer and discuss their achievements as a Venturer Scout. The award is then presented at a National Ceremony.
